of standard (N/10) 250 ml oxalic acid solution
THEORY: Hydrated oxalic acid = C2H2O4.2H2O
Molecular
mass of exalic acid = 126
Equvalent
weight of hydrated oxalic acid = 126/2 = 63g
Hence, 1000
ml 1(N) oxalic acid solution contains = 63g hydrated axalic acid.
250 ml (N/10)
oxalic acid solution contains = 63*250/100*10 =1.57g hydrated axalic acid.
So, 1.57g of by drated oxalic acid is required
to prepare 250 ml (N/10) standard oxalic acid solution.
1.57g of hydrated oxalic acid is weight accurately in a digital balanc and trauster the mess carefully in a 250 ml valumetric flask. Add distilled water to dissotve the mass and make the valume up the mark.
𝧼 MATERIAL REQUIRED:
- Digital balance
- 250 ml valumetric flack
- 250 ml beaker
- Funnel
- Watch glass
- Wash bottle
- Solid oxalic acid
- Distilled water
- Dropper
𝧼PROCEDURE
- A watch glass was taken it was washed with distilled water and dried it
- The clean and dried watch glass was weight and was recorded the weight.
- On the watch glass 1.57g of oxalic acid was correctly weighed and was recorded the weight.
- Ussing a funnel oxalic acid was transfered carefully from the watch glass into a clean and bry250 ml valumetric flask. The watch glass was washed with distilled water to the particles that sick to it into the from with the assistance of wash bottle.
- From this purpose the valume of distilled water should not exceed 25 ml.
- The funnel several times was washed with distilled water to move the sticking particles into the valumetric flask using a wash bottl. Water was added in tiny quantites while washing the funnel. The distilled water valume should not exceed 25 ml.
- Using a wash bottle the funnel was washed carefully with distilled water to pass the solution attached to the funnel into the valumetric flask.
- The flask was shaken carefully until the oxalic acid dissalved
- Using a wash bottle therought enough distilled water
